A checklist for reviewing an AI-proposed finance resolution.
Use this guide to structure a walkthrough or pilot discussion. It is a process checklist, not accounting advice or a claim about measured customer results.
1. Check the sources
Identify the statement, invoice, ledger or receipt involved and the reporting period. Ask whether the underlying information is complete and authorised for use.
2. Inspect the proposal
Read the proposed match or resolution alongside the supporting lines. Ask why that next step was suggested and what remains uncertain.
3. Find the boundary
Identify the applicable procedure, approval threshold and the person entitled to make the decision. A plausible proposal still needs the agreed review.
4. Record the decision
Keep approval, rejection or override separate from the recommendation. Include the reason and any additional evidence requested.
5. Follow the outcome
Check what happened after an approved step. An approval record and a successful downstream result are separate facts.
Apply it to a specific workflow
Bank reconciliation, AR reconciliation and AP exception review each need different source context.
Inspect the fictional sample record, then ask which fields and exports are available for the scope you are evaluating.
Questions to bring to the team
- Who owns an unresolved exception?
- What happens when input data is missing?
- Where does a person approve or reject the proposal?
- What record can a later reviewer actually inspect?
